Auburn University chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society receives 2018 Key Chapter Award

The prestigious Key Chapter Award was presented to members of the Auburn University chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society (GKIHS) at the 2018 Golden Key Leadership Summit in New Orleans on June 30, 2018.

GKIHS has established Chapter Standards by which to measure a chapter’s commitment and adherence to the Society’s three pillars: Academics, Leadership, and Service. Before a chapter can apply for Key designation, it must achieve Gold standard status, the highest possible reporting standard in the Society. Chapters that receive Gold Standing have fulfilled all activity and service requirements; those that become Key Chapters have gone above and beyond by exemplifying outstanding achievements and contributions through additional implementation and participation in events, service projects and more. The Key Chapter Award is one of Golden Key’s most esteemed honors with less than 25% of chapters being awarded the recognition.

Sulihat Aloba, Auburn University Golden Key President and graduate student in chemical engineering, said, “It was with great honor and privilege that I was able to accept the Key Chapter Award on behalf of Auburn University’s GKIHS. This is the first time in our chapter’s history that we have received this award, and I’m so happy to have been a part of the process. We are immensely proud of our chapter, its members, officers and advisors for this wonderful accomplishment. We are excited to see more growth over the coming year, as well as more opportunities for community service and partnerships.”
