2017 Cultural Night

Auburn University’s African Students Association held their annual Cultural Night on Saturday, April 15, 2017, where individuals came together to celebrate cultural heritage. Each year, the organization aims to create an inclusive event to showcase the diverse African cultures represented by Auburn University students, faculty, staff, and community. This year’s event was themed “Inspired by beauty and diversity." The event was kicked off with a dinner of African cuisine, followed by a flag ceremony that showcased and explained many of the countries' flags in Africa. Additional events included a comedy skit, poetry readings, live music, interactive trivia, and the highly popular fashion show. The evening concluded with a speech from the ASA’s advisor, Dr. Overtoun Jenda, and the recognition of the newly elected ASA Executive Board for the 2017-2018 academic year.
