Auburn University Golden Key Students Receive Scholarship Awards

Lauren Dunn, a member of Auburn University's chapter of Golden Key (GK) International Honour Society, has been awarded the 2019 Geico Life Scholarship worth $1,000. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding Golden Key members who achieve academic excellence while balancing additional personal commitments such as full-time work, family, service, and co-extracurricular activities.

Ms. Dunn has been an active and academically thriving student during her time at Auburn University. Not only did she excel in academics, but Lauren was also a student athlete for Auburn University’s swim team. Some of Lauren’s accomplishments include: 2018-2019 Auburn University AUSPY Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year; serving on the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association Board as the Philanthropic Event Coordinator; being selected to participate in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s PROmoting the next GENeration of Researchers (PROGENY) program at the 2018 national convention; and being a 2018 counselor for Auburn University’s College Quest Summer Academy for students who are blind or have low vision. This past summer, Ms. Dunn was also selected for the Hope Speaks volunteer program in Uganda, whose mission is to "inspire hope and raise voices of people with disabilities through therapy, advocacy, and social services.”

Additionally, Kristen Jones (GK vice president) and Victoria Johnson have been selected as recipients for the 2019 Auburn University Golden Key chapter scholarships. Each winner will receive a $250 check at the New Member Recognition Event held at AU’s Student Center on November 14, 2019.

Each year, Golden Key offers over $1,000,000 in scholarships to its members: undergraduate, graduate, and advisors. These scholarships are highly competitive as Golden Key members from all over the world are eligible to apply. Congratulations to our three Auburn University Golden Key members on their commitment to upholding GK's three pillars of academics, leadership, and service!
