Associate Clinical Professor, Dr. Ann Lambert, and the NURS 2130 “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Caring for Children in the Community” class visited the Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch in Camp Hill for an evening of fun. AUSON nursing students decorated holiday cookies, ornaments, and picture frames with the girls. Fun and cozy Christmas socks were gifted to the girls.

According to Lambert, the outreach project allowed nursing students to provide a sense of community, peer mentorship, and bonding among the residents at Girls Ranch. "In addition, new friendship connections were begun with these girls to show them college is a viable option, and they can achieve their goals. Several girls were interested in nursing and occupational therapy as a career. Nursing students were blessed to give back to the community," she added.
