Award Criteria
The Auburn Research Symposium is envisioned as an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as post-doctoral researchers, to share research and creative scholarship with a broad audience consisting of faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and the public. We request that presenters consider the general nature of their audience in crafting their presentations and research summaries for the symposium proceedings.
Award Categories
Multiple awards (university-wide and college specific) will be made in the categories listed below:
- STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)
- Poster Presentations
- Oral Presentations
- Social Science/Creative Scholarship in Design, Arts and Humanities
- Poster Presentations
- Oral Presentations
University-Wide Awards
- Graduate Students
- First place awards for all categories: $500
- Second place awards: $250
- Third place awards: $100
- Undergraduate Students
- First place awards for all categories: $125
- Second place awards: $75
- Third place awards: $50
College Specific Awards
- Top Poster and Oral Presentation for each college
- Graduate Student Award: $100
- Undergraduate Student Award: $50
Note: Post-doctoral researchers’ presentations are featured throughout the Symposium program, but they are not eligible to participate in the presentations award competition.
