Research
Outcome research in preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitation with a specific interest in behavior change interventions, such as the promotion of physical activity in high risk populations and obesity prevention.

Overview
Bonnie Sanderson joined the Auburn University School of Nursing in August, 2009 and was promoted to Professor with tenure in 2013. She serves as Research/Scholarship Coordinator for AUSON and teaches evidence-based practice in the graduate nursing program. Dr. Sanderson has over 25 years of clinical, academic, and research experience in preventive and rehabilitative cardiology and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the field. She served as President of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (2011) and a frequent invited speaker at national and international meetings. .
