Chief Information Office
The Chief Information Office provides the vision and leadership in information technology necessary to advance the university's mission and strategic plan. The mission of the office is to offer direction and support for the effective application and integration of information technology to improve the teaching, learning, research, and administrative environment of the university.
Chief Information Officer (CIO) Jim O'Connor oversees the operations of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and University Information Security Office and works with Auburn University’s senior administration, colleges, schools, and units. OIT provides essential university-wide services in the areas of information technology and operations, including the wired and wireless networks, systems security, and telephone services; technology-enhanced learning, including multimedia classrooms and computing labs; enterprise information systems, including email.
The CIO reports directly to the President of the University.
