Student Symposium abstract guidelines
How to participate
All graduate and undergraduate students enrolled at Auburn University (Main Campus or Montgomery Campus) may attend the This is Research: Student Symposium. Students wishing to make oral, poster, or creative scholarship presentations must submit abstracts of their research or artist’s statements for their creative scholarship when they register for the event. Abstract submissions opened January 11, 2018 and will close on February 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm CST.
Only 2000 characters* (including spaces) are allowed. The abstract should include a description of research goals, methods employed, results, and importance of the findings. Use the Abstract Template when creating your abstract. After you download the template, please save it to your computer with a new file name. You will then be able to upload your abstract to the registration site.
You must check your character count prior to submitting your abstract. Abstracts over the 2000 character limit (with spaces) WILL NOT be accepted. *IMPORTANT: limit is 2000 characters including spaces, not 2000 words. The character count does not include the title or author names.
- Do not include the headings in the abstract.
- No images can be included in the abstract.
- Acronyms should be defined.
