AUCON is looking forward to celebrating its first graduating class of apprentice students in May.

“We are incredibly proud to be the first BSN program in the country to offer an apprenticeship in partnership with EAH, the Alabama Board of Nursing, and the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship,” said Abby Bell, BSN, RNC-OB, coordinator for clinical placement at AUCON. “The program offers students one on one clinical hours with a nurse mentor, giving them valuable experience and making them confident and successful as they enter the work force. The future is bright for our apprentices, and the skills they have gained during their time in the program are invaluable!” added Bell.

“Congratulations to Joaquim Carr, who has been recognized as a Sepsis Warrior. Due to his great work, antibiotics were administered within 15 minutes of triage! Keep up the awesome work, Joaquim! YOU are making a difference. We are proud of you!” said Amanda Eldred, BSN, RN, NCSN, coordinator of the Nurse Apprenticeship Program at East Alabama Health.

“AUCON is so proud of Joaquim Carr for being recognized as a Sepsis Warrior at East Alabama Health! This is another example of how wonderful this program has been for our students," added Bell.
