A new group of cohorts walked on stage to mark their graduation at a special ceremony on Aug. 4, 2023. The pinning ceremony marked their transition from student to professional nursing. Graduates read aloud the Florence Nightingale pledge at the close of the ceremony to mark their commitment to their chosen profession and their oath to serve their patients with integrity, care and respect. Of the 116 students that graduated, 18 were from the RN – BSN program, and 98 from the BSN program.

At the pinning ceremony on August 4, the following students received awards:

  • AUCON Dean's Award - Spencer Gilland
  • AUCON Outstanding Contribution to the College of Nursing - Jackson Duke
  • AUCON Most Supportive Student - Kaitlyn Gallaspy
  • Graduation Marshal - Kaitlyn Gallaspy
  • "Nurse of Nurses" Award - Grace Harris
  • Sigma Award - Kaitlyn Gallaspy
  • Perseverance Award - Brydrecus Watkins
  • RN to BSN Award - Chase Prater
  • Student Marshal – Kaitlyn Gallaspy

Congratulations! You have worked hard to achieve this goal. The determination and flexibility you have demonstrated during this time will serve you well. We know that you will make great nurses and we are so excited to see you grow in your new role!
