Dr. Austin Robinson, Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology, was selected for a prestigious career development program sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).  As part of the program, Dr. Robinson will work on a project related to a potential interaction between race and blood sodium levels that may contribute to racial disparities in resting blood pressure using data from the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA).

Dr. Robinson was also selected for the Center for Clinical and Translational Science pilot program to serve as a part of the 2020 cohort with researchers from around the Southeast. Through this award, Robinson aims to determine if there is racial disparity in the mitochondrial-targeted antioxidant mitoquinone induced restoration of vascular endothelial function.

Congratulations, Austin!
