Lydia Homandberg, graduate student in the College of Human Sciences, published an article in the Annals of Behavioral Medicine which is the first to show that young adults who experience more discrimination have greater increases in stress hormones present in urine.  The hormones, known as catecholamines, are risk factors for chronic disease.
