April 30th marks National Apprenticeship Day. At AUCON, we are proud to offer a comprehensive Nurse Apprenticeship Program in collaboration with East Alabama Health. To date, we have successfully graduated 11 students from this program, with an additional 16 students currently enrolled.
The Nurse Apprenticeship Program enables students who have completed their first semester of nursing school to pursue their clinical hours under the mentorship of a registered nurse while earning a progressive wage. Additionally, through tuition assistance provided by our partner employer, East Alabama Health, students have the opportunity to graduate debt-free.
All students who have participated in the program have either maintained or improved their grades and have progressed through the program as scheduled. One student commented, “I feel confident in my assessment abilities and skills. I believe that my transition from being a student to becoming a nurse will be brief. I am so confident in what I know and what I enjoy doing.”
We will be taking applicants for our 7th cohort of Nurse Apprenticeship students in Summer of 2025.
