We are excited to welcome Leslie Parish who accepted the position as an accountant at AUCON in May 2023. The Montgomery native graduated from Auburn with an undergraduate degree in accounting and received an MBA from AU-Montgomery. After having worked in several places around the South, she finally settled back in Auburn in 2015 with her husband and two children.
Parish brings a wealth of experience with her strong accounting background in different industries including healthcare, higher education and commercial property.
“When I saw this opportunity to work in an academic unit, I was excited about coming back to the University,” she said. “With my previous experience working in finance in healthcare, this seemed like a great fit. After a stint as a systems administrator at a local residential building firm, I just feel more at home back at Auburn and in a finance role.”
Her responsibilities at AUCON requires her to handle all the fiscal operations which include, “preparing and managing the budget, providing financial reporting and analysis for funding activities, advising our leadership team on budget considerations and fiscal policies, monitoring contracts and grants’ expenditures and assisting in the pre-award process, and processing routine financial documents. I’m also the accounting liaison to the central business and finance offices.
“I love the autonomy we each have and that every day is different. Also, AUCON is experiencing tremendous growth, so it’s an exciting time to be a part of it!”
