A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Chambers County Community Health & Wellness Center was held recently in LaFayette, Ala. Several AUCON faculty and students were present at the ceremony.

In partnership with Chambers County and the City of LaFayette, Auburn University is providing high quality, affordable health care and wellness to the local community. AU faculty, staff and students will host health and wellness activities at the center and throughout the community. Nursing students alongside faculty will educate populations about maternal health, asthma, hypertension, and behavior changes. Through these educational interventions, AUCON aims to connect health in community populations.

Other services and programs include health care through the OnMed Care Station, Extension programs, medication management support, education for self-care of chronic conditions, COVID-19 and communicable diseases vaccines and testing, and speech, language and hearing evaluations. The facility will be open daily, Monday through Friday, from 7-11 a.m. and 4-8 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-6 p.m.
