Outreach Global Collaboration in Ghana, West Africa

The program is coordinated through Outreach Global ( March 1-9, 2018) in collaboration with the School of Nursing to offer free medical clinics in rural communities (Sekondi & Nkanfoa) central regions in Ghana, West Africa. The effort was a five day program where the AUSON partnered with medical practitioners from University of cape Coast to provide general medical care such as vision screenings, ear infections treatment, blood pressure monitoring, urine testing, and diabetic services. The program also allowed the students to visit the hospitals while also providing care in these areas and learn a different healthcare system. Outreach Global and The School of Nursing supplied the area hospitals with health supplies as well as stuffed animals and over 30 boxes of books to the children in the Sekondi and Nkanfoa areas.
