Since August 2019, Latha Bhavnani has coordinated communications and marketing for the AU College of Nursing. Her prior Auburn University experience includes serving as the editor of newsletters for the Department of Mechanical Engineering (1997 – 2010), Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (2000 – 03), for news and public affairs division of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (2012 – 13), and as the principal writer for the McWhorter School of Building Sciences (2014 – 18). She has also served as the managing editor of two international journals — The Engineering Economist (2000 – 03) and the Vocational Evaluation and Career Assessment Professional Journal (2004 – 06), and as an associate editor of the international Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media (2007-11). She has an M.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University, and an M.A. in Education from Mysore University, India.
