Skylar Moore Couch
Assistant Clinical Professor
Skylar Moore Couch, DNP, MSN, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Auburn University College of Nursing. She supports graduate and undergraduate nursing education with an emphasis on psychiatric–mental health, advanced clinical assessment, and the integration of mental health concepts across primary care settings. Her scholarly interests include the recognition of medical conditions that manifest as psychiatric symptoms, innovative approaches to psychiatric assessment, and the impact of state and federal health policy on nurse practitioner practice authority, workforce development, and patient access to mental health services.
Dr. Couch holds a joint faculty appointment with East Alabama Health, where she practices clinically as a psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner and collaborates to expand access to mental health services in rural communities. She earned her DNP and MSN from the University of South Alabama, completed a post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing, and is board certified as both a Family and Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
