Sarah Owens Watts

Assistant Professor
Dr. Watts received her BSN and MSN degrees from Samford University. She received her PhD in nursing degree from Mercer University and was awarded the NLN/SNRS Research Grant to fund her dissertation study. Dr. Watts also completed the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning Research Fellowship. In addition, she received a DAISY Award for her excellence in graduate teaching and was part of a team of faculty from Auburn University selected for the President’s Outstanding Collaborative Units Award. Currently, she serves as the faculty advisor for the Auburn University chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa Tau International Honor Society and leader in the Interprofessional Education program at Auburn University/VCOM-Auburn. Dr. Watts is a member of the Alabama State Nurses Association, Golden Key International Honor Society, Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Southern Nursing Research Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. She serves on several committees and advisory boards within these organizations.
