All hot work performed on Auburn University's campus will be inspected and approved by Risk Management & Safety prior to the hot work being performed. It is necessary to have all equipment in place prior to inspection with all applicable safety measures in place (fire blankets, fire extinguishers, screens, etc.). If smoke detectors are present at the work site, Auburn University Electrical Shop must be contacted prior to the scheduled begin date/time to isolate the fire alarm system. They also must be contacted immediately after the work is complete to reactivate the fire alarm system. Smoke detectors cannot be covered without the permission of Risk Management & Safety.
Complete all information fields and click Submit Request. Once your request has been reviewed, you will be contacted within 48 hours to confirm the work site inspection date/time.
Hot Work Permit will be delivered on date/time of the scheduled work site inspection.
If hot work must continue beyond the permit end date, another request form for that project must be submitted
