History

The Auburn University Women’s Resource Center was established in August of 2006, under the leadership of Dr. Donna L. Sollie, Assistant Provost for Women’s Initiatives.  Dr. Sollie has served as Director of the Women’s Resource Center since the Center was established.

The original vision for the Women’s Resource Center at Auburn University was that it would be a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive center that models collaboration and empowerment in addressing women’s concerns.  The work of the Center was designed to make a significant difference in enhancing the lives of women at Auburn University by improving the environment in which they learn and work and by promoting understanding among Auburn University’s diverse communities of women and men.   The Center would become recognized on campus and in the surrounding community as a leader in addressing and advancing women’s concerns, and will be known and utilized as a center for activities that reflect the diversity of interests and aspirations of women at Auburn University.
