Women's Initiatives

Welcome to the Women’s Initiatives website.
The mission of Women’s Initiatives is to advance the interests, status, and well-being of women at Auburn University.  We develop initiatives that foster a more accepting university climate for all women.  We develop programs and policies aimed toward recruiting, retaining, and advancing the status of women faculty, staff, and students.  We work to increase the equitable representation of women across all campus units.  We build partnerships and collaborations that support diversity.
Women’s Initiatives includes the Women’s Resource Center, the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Institute, the ADVANCE Auburn Center, and Faculty Advancement, and is under the direction of the Assistant Provost for Women’s Initiatives in the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.  The links on the toolbar to the left will take you to the websites for these units.
Women’s Initiatives collaborates with other programs at Auburn University that address women’s advancement.  These programs include the Women’s Philanthropy Board in the College of Human Sciences, the Women’s Leadership Institute in the College of Liberal Arts, the Women’s Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts, the Society for Women in Sciences and Mathematics in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, 100 Women Strong in the College of Engineering, and WINGS in the Athletics Department.  These programs reflect Auburn University’s strong commitment to gender equity for our female students, faculty, and staff.
