Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Did you know...

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) suggest that 23.6 percent of women and 11.5 percent of men reported being a victim of what it called "intimate partner violence" at some time in their lives  It is estimated that 1,200 women are killed and 2 million women are injured as a result of domestic violence annually.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Make sure to check out "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes," which will be held on the Green Space on Saturday, October 28th, at 2 p.m.  For warning signs, tips to protect yourself, etc. check out the National Coalistion Against Domestic Violence website.
