Have you ever been concerned about a situation and wanted to help...but didn't?
You aren't alone. Like many others, you have been affected by the bystander effect, which happens when individuals do not offer help or make an intervention in a dangerous or emergency situation when other people are around, because they assume that others will take responsibility for helping.
Step Up! is a movement currently being cultivated on the Auburn University campus, and at many colleges and universities across the country. It serves to encourage students to take responsibility in these situations and be proactive in helping others.
