Meet our Staff


 

Eric Smith, M.A., Director

Eric serves as the Director of Health Promotion and Wellness Services. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in education and history from Salisbury University and a Master of Arts in higher education from Ball State University.  Prior to working at Auburn University, Eric served in a variety of roles at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he became involved in health education, prevention, and cultivating a healthier campus environment.  When not in the office, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, running, biking, and racing in Ironman Triathlons. 

 

 

 

 

 

DaNavian Spratling, Administrative Support

DaNavian Spratling joined Health Promotion and Wellness Services in 2015, bringing her extensive experience in student services, customer service and administration.  Before working at Auburn University, DaNavian worked as an admissions clerk at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Tuskegee University and administrative assistant at Lee County Youth Development Center.  DaNavian enjoys crafting and traveling.

 

 

 

 

Molly Moore, M.Ed.

Molly serves as an Alcohol and Drug Prevention Specialist for HPWS.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia Southern University and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University.  She is a third year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology Program at Auburn University.  Molly believes in a holistic view and approach to wellness. When not working or in class, Molly enjoys running marathons, traveling, watching football, and is a lover of all things outdoors and Auburn. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drew Bassett

Drew serves as an Alcohol and Drug Prevention Specialist for Health Promotion and Wellness Services. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Media, Arts & Design from James Madison University. After working full-time as a website designer for a few years, he decided to go back to school and is now a second year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Auburn University. In his free time he enjoys cooking and eating delicious food and watching hockey.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Julie Matsunaga, M.A., LAPC

 
Julie serves as the Collegiate Recovery Coordinator for HPWS working with the Auburn Recovery Community. She earned a BBA from Berry College, Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of West Georgia, and is a licensed LAPC in Georgia. She is a doctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision Program at Auburn University. College is a time of transition and change.  It is particularly challenging for those in the recovery community. It is Julie's goal to make the collegiate experience normative and supportive for students when facing the challenges of addiction.

 

 

Christina Aycock, Graphic Designer

Christina serves as the Graphic Designer for HPWS. She is a junior undergraduate at Auburn University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. In the office, she works on posters, buttons, flyers, and all the graphic needs of HPWS. Outside of the office, Christina enjoys giving tours with the CADC Ambassadors, as well as serving as the national president of Silver Wings. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and photography. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in magazine design and photography.   ​

 

 

 

 

 

 

Amanda Fishman, Graduate Assistant

Amanda serves as the Wellness Graduate Assistant for 2015-2016. Amanda is pursuing her Masters of Education and serves as the President of the Higher Education Student Affairs organization. She is originally from Sebastian, FL and attended Stetson University where she completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Integrative Medicine on a pre-physical therapy track. She has also had previous student affairs experience in Fraternity & Sorority Life, residence life, and orientation/first-year experience offices. Outside of the classroom or the office, Amanda enjoys anything sports related, traveling, and finding the next best coffee shop.
