ANSI Z136.1-2014, American National Standard for Safe Use of Lasers

Auburn University Laser Safety Program is based on guidance of ANSI Z136.1-2014, American National Standard for Safe Use of Lasers. This standard provides reasonable and adequate guidance for the safe use of laser and laser systems that operate between wavelengths 180 nm and 1000 µm. The Radiation Safety Office recommends that all groups using Class 3B and/or Class 4 Lasers purchase a current copy of ANSI Z136.1, American National Standard for Safe Use of Lasers for ease of reference and for internal lab use.
