"Savvy Researcher Boot Camp" for graduate students set for Sept. 21, 2019

Auburn University Libraries will be offering its fall edition of the Savvy Researcher Boot Camp on Sept. 21 from 9:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. This once-a-semester bundle of workshops is designed for graduate students who want to take their research skills to a higher level. The Savvy Researcher Boot Camp will take place in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library and Mell Classroom Building. Students may pick and choose between the sessions that interest them.

Workshops 60 to 90 minutes in duration include:

  • Intro to Mendeley

  • HathiTrust: Finding Primary Source Materials

  • Intro to LaTeX

  • Effective Poster Design

  • Strategic Searching

  • Intro to Library Services

  • Managing Your Scholarly Identity

  • Publishing Your Work: Open Access, Copyright, and AUrora

“Lightning Session” workshops 30 minutes in duration include:

  • Research in Engineering Village

  • Searching WorldCat

  • Searching PubMed

  • Researching in Special Collections and Archives

  • How to Read a Scholarly Article

  • Citation Tracking

  • Finding Full Text

  • Making the Most out of Your ORCID ID

  • Managing Documents in the Cloud
