Auburn University Climate Survey Findings

The ADVANCE Auburn University Academic Work Environment Survey was administered to all university faculty in Fall 2007. The major focus of the study is to understand the perceptions of faculty about departmental and university climate, within participating STEM departments and faculty in other academic colleges at the university, with special emphases on differences between female and male faculty members across the university. This survey assessed faculty perceptions of several variables related to climate (e.g. mentoring, work-family conflict, university and department climate, and satisfaction).  Auburn’s participating STEM departments include all departments within the College of Sciences and Mathematics and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering and three departments (Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology) within the College of Liberal Arts. Other departments include the following colleges: Agriculture, Architecture, Design, and Construction, Business, Education, Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, Human Sciences, other departments within Liberal Arts, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine.
