Recharge & Optional Dining Accounts

July 27, 2016 @ 9:21AM

Man looking at empty plate with hungered look on his faceAuburn’s standard dining plan was designed to cover about half a student’s dining budget each semester.  Students who enjoy the variety and convenience of dining on campus may open an Optional Dining Account once those funds are gone. Optional Dining Accounts are popular for many reasons:

Convenience  Students have no need to carry additional items -  Optional Dining Funds are available via their Tiger Cards. These funds may be used at any on-campus dining facility including food trucks and Auburn Arena concessions.

Confidence   Optional Dining Funds never expire.  If there’s a balance in an Optional Dining Account, it is held in reserve each semester until the standard dining plan has been fully utilized. Once the standard account is exhausted, the Optional Dining funds become available for use. When a student graduates, any Optional Dining balance remaining is refunded to the student’s SFS account.

BONU$  For each $100 deposited in a student’s Optional Dining Account, our dining contractor, Chartwells, adds $10 to an Additional Optional Dining Account that’s also available via students’ TigerCards.  This is Chartwells’ way of thanking students for dining on campus.   When students add funds during the Recharge promotion, they get an additional $5 per $100, meaning that a $200 deposit gives them $230 to spend at campus restaurants.

The Spring 2016 Recharge Promotion will run March 23 – April 20, 2016.  You may fund an Optional Dining account online or by calling the TigerCard office at 334-844-4507, option 2.

For additional information about student dining accounts, please call the Campus Dining Office: 334-844-8504.

Finish Strong

July 27, 2016 @ 8:28AM

As the semester winds down, students are preparing to finish strong, showing what they’ve learned this spring on their final exams.  Textbooks, wifi access, and even study spaces seem to be in short supply!

During the first week of May, Tiger Dining is partnering with the Biggio Center and the Academic Support office to provide additional study spaces for students within our dining facilities.

Tables are available and white boards with markers will be provided.

New this semester: Students may reserve a table for group study during the evenings of May 1-4 at Foy Hall (6:30-10:30pm) or Village Dining (8:30-10:30pm). Student groups may also request a Study Partners Tutor or SI Leader to help with exam preparations during those times.

Reserve your spot now at the Tiger Dining website.

And Finish Strong!
